ASPIS defence technology solves problems at the root because it has been specifically designed to control and manage weapons and their accessories by integrating software screens, secure RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), barcode, biometric scanners and alarms. The software is fully developed and available for deployment and configuration according to each client’s workflow and terminology, fully adapting to each organisation’s operational requirement.

The sheer volume of movement of weapons and accessories between units and personnel implies great responsibility and a formidable logistical challenge. Countless daily tasks such as transfers, assignments, guard duties, operations, audits, inspections and maintenance make their control a challenge impossible to solve with existing standard methods.

Weapons Management System

We have designed ASPIS WEAPONS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM from the ground up, with UN Standards for control and distribution of Small Arms and Weapons Systems in mind.

ASPISControl, a policy-based rule engine built around a central database, reads information from various sources, such as common ID cards, bar code or RFID Tags, around any applicable business process we integrated to the core components. The business process, – which is in most cases an operational process to which we want to add track-and-trace knowledge – gives us ad-hoc information on the position of our assets, and who is willing to access them. When applying our solution to handling any given inventory associated to such business process, we speak about asset management.

ASPIS.Control

The ASPIS Weapons Management system (ASPISWMS) is optimised for Weapons / Gear Accountability, by tracking weapons, gear and defensive equipment using software screens, bar codes and / or secure RFID technologies.

Daily operations such as handing out and receiving weapons or instantaneous inventory reporting is functionality offered out-of-the box by the management console ASPIS.Control

The ASPIS.SYSTEM is composed of several functional blocks or components. The Weapons Management System, ASPIS.WMS bundles following components managed by ASPIS.Control:

ASPIS.Tag

Delivery and reception of weapons and accessories for daily movements. Information on items in the possession of staff. Alerts in case of expiry. Suggestion of required items for guards and agents, statement of alerts, stock information of the item in the armoury, inspection status.

Using ASPIS.Tags and ASPISControl we integrate varieties of tags depending on the type of weapon or any other assets like containers, timber, cars, or any other element you want to manage in the Chain-of-Custody

Asset Management

ASPIS.Id

Weapons and accessories handed out and delivered are associated to a person’s ID card. History of delivery and reception of weapons is as such contained in the ASPISControl management console.

Photograph and General information about the staff are contained in the ASPIS.Id module. By linking identity management to asset management we can manage the authorisation to carry weapons (or not of course).
